South of South Walkability Plan
The South of South Walkability Plan was published in April 2009 by the Philadelphia City Planning Commission (PCPC). Funded by a Transportation and Community Development Initiative Grant (TCDI) from the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC), it aimed to improve pedestrian safety in our neighborhood following a rash of accidents that took place, especially in school zones. The Advisory Committee that guided the creation of this plan included representatives from SOSNA, the Washington Avenue Property Owners Association, Universal Companies, PCPC, DVRPC, the Water Department, the Streets Department, and the Chester A. Arthur Elementary School.
