May 17, 2011 is the Philadelphia Municipal Primary!  Get out and vote. This is a very very important election for this city with the potential to greatly alter the political landscape of our neighborhood, our district and our City.

IF YOU DON'T VOTE, YOU CAN'T COMPLAIN!!!

The non-partisan Committee of Seventy has a trove of details, documents and resources relating to this election:

  1. Find Your Polling Place - Use the online Citizen's Guide to search by address for your polling place, councilmanic district and more!

Wonderful news!  Thanks to the genorosity of many neighbors in our community, Mr. Franklin's DonorsChoose project to raise money for a new projectors has been successfully completed!

Mr. Michael Franklin, 7th and 8th Grade math and science teacher at the Chester A. Arthur School at 20th and Catharine Streets, needs a new LCD Projector in his classroom.  The existing one is too dim and cuts out too frequently to function properly for his students, like Malik (below - Photo Credit: Ryan Donnell).

Thanks to everyone who joined us on April 30 at the Grays Ferry Triangles for the inaugural PlazaPalooza!  It was an  unqualified success, with beautiful weather, great food, great deals and great company!

SOSNA is thrilled to announce the second phase of the Big Belly Campaign!  Phase I saw over 90 individual neighbors and institutions contirbute to raise $9000 in less than two months, and led to the installation of two new Big Bellies at 18th and Catharine Streets and 23rd and Christian Streets on April 13, 2011 (see pictures at right)!!

Now it is on to Phase II!!!
