CHOP Update

From our friends at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia . . .

Dear Neighbors:
On Monday, October 1, 2012, you may notice construction-like activity on our Schuylkill Avenue property.  Please know this work is not related to any future development that may occur on it.

Instead we are building two small mock-ups of our new Ambulatory Care Center which is under construction on Civic Center Boulevard. One model is 10 feet long, 22 feet wide and approximately 20 feet tall. The other model is 16 feet long, 5 feet wide and 8 feet tall.  Both models will be secured by fencing and monitored by security personnel. Use of these models is normal in the course of development and will allow our contractors and consultants to evaluate the building design aesthetic prior to construction of the Ambulatory Care Center.

By way of background, our Ambulatory Care Center will serve as a world class facility housing the most advanced levels of outpatient pediatric care available.  It will allow us to better integrate our services under one roof, allowing us to provide excellent patient care in a number of pediatric specialties. Its unique design will support the needs of children with multiple chronic conditions that may need to see a number of specialists in the course of their visit, and will offer a significant amount of additional parking for patients and green space for their enjoyment.

The construction of these mock-ups will cause no disruption by way of traffic or noise and they require no significant excavation; however, we are committed to transparency and wanted to make certain you were made aware of this work and its purpose.
